A chance to get one foot in the Cup Final stood in front of us with our trip to Wyberton.


We had just the bare 11 players of which some were not 100% so it was going to be interesting to see how we would get on against an improving Wyberton team. Particularly after some of our lack lustre performances recently.


Well first half was very much even with Wyberton having the better of the chances but no team really threatening the oppositions goal too much with both defences on top. And when a shot did come it wasnt on target. Half time 0 0.


However second half and the old Deeping started to reappear. We managed to start playing football and using the wings with both Rio and Dani having good games. Callie and Yazz both started to close down their defence and our midfield started winning the 50 50 balls. Our defence was solid and Nicola swept up anything that did come through. Our efforts were rewarded with the first goal coming from Yazz who latched onto a through ball from Chloe. This was following by 2 long range efforts from Chloe (one being really a cross) to make the final score 3 0.


It was great to see signs of the old Deeping back and everyone played their part by putting in the effort. Well done to them all.
