Final league game away to Caythorpe and Fulbeck and what a lovely setting it was.

Rosie in goal, who kept a clean sheet and who’s kicking and confidence improved as the game went on, well done Rosie. Let’s make you the loudest girl on the pitch next week eh ;0) !

Sian and Steph started at the back man marking and they settled in well, with some lovely timed tackles from Steph and some superb passing from Sian, cracking!

The midfield of Holly holding in front of the defence proved supportive and her crunching tackles and quality heading cleared the lines well. This left Imy on the right, Jen on the left and Kels through the middle to push through and cause problems for the Caythorpe’s defence and that they did. Imy’s tricky runs on the right and crosses were a peach and she was so unlucky not the score, although her efforts turned in 4 assists for the game, corking!. Jen’s tackling and short passing was crisp and focused and Kels darting runs always causing problems with a well deserved goal beautifully took from just inside the area.

Up front we started with Bella and Emily G and what a great game they had with them both hitting the woodwork, keeper, defenders, rabbits !, everything but the back of the net, until Bella’s battling proved too much and she fired in a cracking right footer. Well done girls, great battling and effort and well done Emily G for the Girl of the Game.

The team was rotated a few times to give all a chance to play in the final league game and with the likes of Molly, Emz, Saskia and Ali all coming off the bench only added to the team’s performance. Ali netted 2 goals, the first a superb left foot in the first half and a second slotting in on the end of a cross late in the second half, well done, Saskia also netted a quality chipped goal and set up another. Molly was again at home in the defence, with quality tackling and passing and Emz played across the middle, showing great tackles, control and comfort on the ball.

Well done all girls, good luck for next week, be strong, focused and committed and I have every confidence you will get through to the final.
