For the first time this season we had 2 games in a row. Hopefully we could start seeing us back upto the standards we had set ourselves in previous seasons.
Sleaford arrived with only 9 players but their main team was there so it wasnt going to be a walk in the park as proved last week against Lincoln Griffins.
First half saw us very sloppy and unenthusiastic about the game. The opposition was running their hearts out and made up for the missing players. It was quite an even game but we did have the better chances but had our usual problem of not scoring. Then despite the fact they only had 2 players attacking from a throwin against our 7 we just stood and watched their player head the ball home! Would this get us going? Well not quite, We won a corner and Ella, playing in defence for the missing Katie C, went up for it and thankfully put the ball in the back of the net to equalize. Half Time was 1-1.
Second Half saw us improve slightly but we were still below par from how we can play. Sleaford were also beginning to tire. Still the goals wouldnt come until Dani got hold of the ball on the wing, cut inside and placed a lovely shot to the far post which hit the post and went in giving us the lead. Thats how it stayed until full time giving us the win we needed.
Overall an under par performance but a win is a win.
