Finally a nice day for playing football with a game that could go a long way for us in getting our hands back onto the League Title.

Despite the disruption of a visit from the Air Ambulance Crew for another match we started the game brightly and was really dominating the game, playing in their half and having all the chances. Finally the breakthrough cam when Dani ran on to a through ball to slot it home. Sill we had chances to extend our lead but it wasnt forthcoming. A long ball over the top from Sleaford caught us out and unfortunately we gave away a penalty. But our goal held firm as the penalty came of the crossbar and Nic gathered their follow up effort. Half time came with the score 1-0 to us.

Second half was very much the same but we could just not extend our lead until a cross for Chloe was tapped in by Dani. Yazz had made her the space with a good run to the near post to challenge for the ball, Unfortunately she paid the price of a nasty swollen knee. Thats how it stayed until full time and its means a giant step to winning the league.

I have to say Sleaford didnt seem quite up for it today which is very much against how they normally play against us. However take nothing way from our team as we dominated every bit of the pitch and we didnt give them any time or space on the ball. Our defense was fantatsic today, challenging for the high balls and getting there first and when they did break through Nicola was on from with some good quality saves.

So the league title is for us to lose really as we have done the hard work in giving ourselves acushion at the top. Well done to all the team and lets hope its the same result a week on tuesday!
