Last game of the season and it was a glorious day of sunshine in Lincoln.

It was also an early start for the girls and it certainly showed in the first 15 mins. We were feeling so relaxed and generous we even gave Griffins a goal when Nic failed to call for the ball and Katie C glanced a header past her to put us one down. We then started to wake up a bit and let the football do the talking with some great passing movements to create some good chances but their goal held firm. Evenetually Dani ran through from midfield and slotted one home. Score at half time was 1-1. A highlight of the half also has to go to Laurens great impersination of Jonny Wilkinson from a free kick!

2nd half saw us still in control and there were still some great crosses come in but the second goal was eluding us. Until that is Yazz received the ball on the edge of the area, turned and shot. The ball sailed in over their keepers head. A stunning goal! However Griifins wouldnt be defeated and they got their reward when some less than brilliant defending let their forward through to score. 2-2 with 15 minutes to go. We decided to turn the screw a bit more and got our just reward. First Dani got her seond of the match then Yazz kept her cool and slotted another one home from outside the area. Finally with the ball lose in their are it hit Ellie C and went in but her effort of getting in the position was excellent work. Final score 5-2 but there were times our sloppyness could have cost us the win as Griffins never gave up and it was only the last 10 minutes when we pulled clear.

The game summed up our league campaign really. Some sloppy football mixed with some excellent football, but the work rate when required was always there. Just wish they could do it from the start rather than at the end of each match as it would make it more of a pleasure for me!!!!
